Ordering FAQs answered
Here’s what you need to know if you’re anxiously awaiting your new windows and doors.
What is the lead time on Andersen windows and doors?
Lead times vary by product line. During the quoting process, you’ll receive an estimated lead time to help you plan your project. When you place your order, you’ll receive an estimated delivery date.
How much does each window cost?
The cost of an individual window or door varies greatly depending on type, size, material, and other details. The product itself is only part of the cost associated with a window or door project. You also must figure in installation costs, which can include labor, permitting, disposal fees, and more. Start understanding window costs, and if you need detailed pricing, we recommend you request a quote. This is the best way to understand the true cost of your unique project.
How long does delivery take?
When an order is placed, we provide an estimated delivery date. Contact the dealer or The Home Depot® store where you purchase your windows and doors to find out the estimated delivery date for your order.

Sizing FAQs answered
Our windows can be specified to 1/8” so don’t worry about finding the right size.
How do I find the right size window or door?
Precise measuring will be needed to find the right size window or door. It’s important to understand that measuring can be complicated in a replacement project. This is for several reasons, including the fact that old windows are often out of square and that sizing will be different depending on the option you choose — flanged, full-frame or insert window. This sometimes necessitates making judgement calls, and that’s where the experience of a pro is key. We recommend speaking with a window or door installation specialist who has experience with our products before taking on a DIY window replacement project. We can help you find a local contractor.

How do I measure for my new windows or doors?
We recommend leaving window and door measurement to experienced contractors who specialize in replacement. This is because measurements must be incredibly precise, and windows need to be properly assessed prior to measurement. Why? The right replacement option will depend on factors like the physical condition of the existing window, its placement, and the type (insert, etc.) of replacement window the opening requires. Still, if you want to take a rough measurement to help you begin understanding window costs, here’s how to measure windows.
Do your windows meet egress standards?
We offer windows in a variety of sizes, so it’s almost a guarantee that there’s a size that will meet clear openable area (or egress dimensions) in your area. Find sizing details in our product guides and keep in mind that custom sizing is available to 1/8”. See your local code official for code requirements in your area.

Finishing FAQs answered
Windows and door paint colors, stain colors, and wood species are varied so you can find a perfect match.
Where can I find a color-matched paint?
At any Sherwin-Williams store, they will have the formulas to match all our window colors in their system. This makes it easy to paint your trim to match your windows or go all in on a monochrome look. Simply tell them you’re looking for our dark bronze, sandtone, or whatever color your windows may be.
Can I paint my windows or doors?
Our windows and doors have durable, low-maintenance exterior finishes that should never need repainting.
However, if you want to paint the interior of your existing Andersen windows, this is possible if you have a window with a wood interior. Product lines with wood interiors include 200 Series, 400 Series, A-Series, or E-Series. We don’t recommend painting the exterior surfaces of our windows and doors.
If you are ordering new windows and want to paint them yourself, you can order your windows either unfinished or primed. It’s also possible to order new windows painted with your preferred color. More than 50 colors are offered standard with our E-Series windows, or you could custom order windows from this product line finished with any color from Sherwin-Williams.
Can I purchase your products unfinished and stain them myself?
Yes, you can order your windows or doors with an unfinished interior and stain or paint them yourself for a perfect match with the rest of your home. One pro move that can save time, if you plan to paint onsite, is ordering your windows primed. This will save you one step.
